Why should I use an independent auditor?
An audit should be conducted by an independent organization that does no conflicts. A conflict of interest may include performing services for the administrator being audited or having a consulting role in the design or negotiation of benefits. HDM is focused solely on healthcare auditing and does not broker insurance coverage or prepare financial statements. No insurance company or outside company has any equity interest in HDM. HDM conducts a totally independent audit.

What questions should I ask to evaluate auditors?
  .   Does the team actually performing the audit have experience auditing
     the administrators?
  .   Is the company focused on working with employer groups?
  .   Does the company have any conflicts of Interest? (such as having the
     administrator as a client, or performing financial audits or designing
     your benefits.
  .   Do they review 100% of claims?
  .   Does the company provide ongoing services to manage cost, risk and
     compliance?

Confidentiality is a concern. How will you handle this?
Our work will remain highly confidential and will be performed in accordance with the highest professional standards. All employee/member identifiers will be removed from reports. As part of the Service Agreement, HDM signs a business associates agreement with you in regard to all data provided.

What type of plans do you audit?
HDM audits medical, pharmacy, dental, vision, and flexible spending account plans.
